A case study on how Gainmex Industrial Limited adopted ETMX to streamline operational efficiency and eliminate inventory discrepancies.

Gainmex Industrial Limited (GIL) engineering team requires several thousand electronic components, which are actively used to build its devices. However, the challenge lies in keeping component data error-free and updated with the latest information from production department and their warehouses. GIL currently produces 24 categories of accessories and over 6,500 material types. With different production material attributes, GIL used to generate more than 400 sheets of hand written technical specification documents.

adds Mr. TT Wong, Chief of Operation at GIL. In lieu of clean component data, engineers at GIL have at times been forced to manually gather the required data from different departments. It significantly increased the workload and put pressure on Mold Injection department.

“Production department input data on our storage system, but we need to manually check the information accuracy every single time. Multiple storage, statistics and documents have to be merged by hand. Hand-written statistical documents often increase error-rate. It’s a waste of manpower and time which contribute to slower production cycle”

Integration Drives Efficiency

GIL implemented ETMX for its engineering teams. It greatly helps GIL to achieve paperless check-in environment. Automated processes give GIL component engineer comprehensive and precise data, such as Random Storage, Discrepancy Reporting, Inbound Freight Management, and Low Stock Alert.

Allow Shipping department to pack slips on demand, track vital shipping information, rate shopping, print correct freight labels, and automate manifesting. As for invoicing, ETMX supports invoice printing based upon actual fill and back order processing.

Purchasing department can now create purchase order on demand with ETMX and achieve Virtual distributed warehouse.

The Result

By using ETMX Cross Reference & RMA (Return Materials Authorization) processing features, GIL is able to find alternates for obsolete and problematic components; this ultimately increases GIL’s effective departmental collaboration and significantly optimizes warehouse operations.

Reduced Man-Hours Increase Productivity & Control

GIL’s Tooling Engineers have significantly reduced the number of man-hours it takes to validate BOMs in storage system. The aggregation of data and automation allow GIL’s engineers to focus on the product quality and lead time instead of chasing after data.
